LiteOn is one of my favs - I have 3 :)
    Pioneer is another good one.
Plextors are great too - just more $ than the LiteOn's or Pioneers.

If you're in the US check out newegg.com - great prices and service.

Hi Binkie. May I ask you if you have a favorite make or model burner you use and which ones are good at reading discs?...say if they're scratched or old...

    Regards

    Hi Altercuno
    I love the LiteOn's for burning - I an older one SOHW-832 and 2 newer'ish ones - SHW-160P6S and an external SHM-165P6S.
Good ripping speeds and great burns.
My fav is probably the external one.

But for the older, scratched discs my Pioneer DVR-108 (older drive) does a better job. Doesn't rip as fast as the LiteOn - but just a few minutes longer. Does handle the discs though that the LiteOn doesn't.
    It's a great burner too.
    Hope this helps!

I am with Binkie here. I like Lite-on's and Pioneers. I have three Pioneer drives and they are working like a charm. They may not burn at turbo speeds but they are very stable and reliable. Another good brand is Plextor but it is up in price,

Pioneer, Plextor, and LiteOn... BenQ's were legendary but hard to find these days. Rare BenQ 1655 still available here.
