what are torrents and how do you play them????
Torrents are compressed files found on the internet, you use torrent downloarders such as bitlord or bitcomet to download the files to your computer.
Get utorrent at utorrent.com and open the file with it.
utorrent never worked for me... i like bitlord alot better
How can it not work? You just run the standalone.
BitLord is a spyware infested piece of crap.
And if your a member of a private torrent site they ban many clients like those listed above (BitComet,BitLord,BitRoll,etc.). Many if not all recommend uTorrent or Azureus as their clients of choice.
i downloaded utorrent from 3 different places (including the official site) and it would always lock my computer up every single time i tried to start a task and yes i tried alot of different torrents... may just be my computer but i doubt it
Axwardle, if your computer locks up from a simple program like uTorrent, I have no idea how it can run certain others. Perhaps there's a flaw in your hardware that can't handle certain exceptions, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Try installing the full version, or if you did that, try the standalone exe. Make sure you're using the 1.6 stable, not the 1.6.1 beta. That could be one of the reasons why it's locking up.
ya cuz i disabeled all of my virus software etc. it actually downloaded one 60 mb item and was ok but then after that whenever i try to start the torrent it just locks my whole computer but that's ok i can just use bitlord
BitLord, BitComet, and a few others are all coded off the same engine.
i dont know if this guide will help but....
try search\ask in the "windows p2p software " forum
guys really it's ok bitlord works just fine
Bittorrent is the original Torrent client.
Torrent is a file that you download, and then you luanch it with a torrennt client.
it will download the iso for you. that all!
It may work "just fine" but that doesnt mean the program itself doesn't install Spyware/Adware/etc.
BitTorrent is a file distribution system used for transferring files across a network of people. As you download a file, BitTorrent places what you download on upload for other users; when multiple people are downloading the same file at the same time they upload pieces of the file to each other. BitTorrent pieces together the file you are downloading, to where the first part of a file you get may be the last part someone else gets. As you continue to retrieve the file, BitTorrent also uploads data to other users. For example, a person with 98 percent of the file done is directed to the people with the 2 percent of the file they still need.
That's fantastic, but that still doesn't hold any relativity to what anyone was saying. Although it did clear up some things for me
havent most people ever heard of wikipedia, or google, google "what is bit torrents" and theirs bound to be millions of results, is it me or should their be some more discussion on these psp boards, all i see is help posts.
Too true, but if everybody knew how to use google instead of just starting threads, there wouldn't be noobs
