What bios??

I have just installed a ver 1.o spider chip and would like to know what bios i should use with this chip.

It depends on what version motherboard you have? If you have a 1.6 or 1.6b then you can only use the M8_1.6 OR M8+_1.6 Bios. For version 1.0 - 1.5 I feel the X2 4983 or X2 4981 are the better Bios to use. They have Xbox live blocking built in to them and you don't have to patch them if you decide to upgrade to a larger HDD over 120gb. The only thing is you'll have to choose between the X2 4983.06 or the X2 4983.67. Same goes for the X2 4981. The .06 version is for a large F:/ Partition and the .67 is for an F:/ Partition upto 137gb and the rest on G:/ Partition.

Yes. Get the Bios set up on the Chip first and then install your Dash Board. It's a good idea to back-up your Eeprom also as one of the first steps just in case.
