you have a number of things wrong this log

    your DMA is off
you have not much memory available

    turn it on,
    my comp/control panel/system/hardware/device manager/ide atapi controllers/right click secondary ide channel/properties/advance settings.enable DMA
if it dont work, you need to uninstall the IDE channel which controls the drives, then reboot

shut down everything you can whilst burning
    internet/security/
(check your task manager to see whats running)=right click on the task bar at the bottom of your screen

Hursty you are a legend!!!Thanks mate.
Uninstalled the ide thing and away we go.What appears to be a perfect backup.

Why would it do that??Will it do it again??
Twas probably the root of my problems with the DL backup thing.

    Thanks again.

if you keep getting errors,it will come out of DMA mode amd automatically go into PIO mode(i think its about 6 errors)
just have to switch it back

Options you can try with "power calibration errors"

o Try another brand of DVD-/+R or DVD-/+RW media. This is the most common cause of OPC errors.

o Update the firmware of your recorder. Check the manufacturer's website for the latest version.

o Check your power connectors, loose connections do occur. Don't share power with other devices. It needs its own power connector. If the errors occurs with an external recorder, Check the USB cable and connections.

o Try different configurations, such as taking the DVD-ROM to the primary IDE bus as slave and have only the recorder connected to the secondary IDE bus as master.

o Clean or have your DVD burner serviced. There are cleaning kits available. Sometimes just a gentle appplication of canned air can remove dust blocking the laser.

    o Replace the DVD burner.

lets hope we don't need to do the last one :)

I had a bunch of ritek ridata go4 branded, that I got the power calibration error, and I just slowed down my burn speed from 4x to 2x.
It beats having to throw them away.
