    Hi!

I've been buying a dvd writer, many have told me that I should buy Pioneer DVR-107, and it's looks good to me, but I've read a few reviews that says it isn't good for backing up protected discs. Anyone has any opinions on this, I'll be using it also for PS2bacups, so should I look for some other recorder like LG/LiteOn, or Is 107 a good choice.

    Thanks!

What kind of protected discs? If you mean PC games, then you're right. Very few DVD-RWs can back up PC games.

The 107 is about the best writer out there and a very good value as well. I'd definitely avoid the LG writers but the Lite On's are good and capable of backing up PC games.

Thanks for your assistance, I think I'll stick to getting the 107 :)

Now I bought Pioneer 107D! Haven't yet tested it, hope it's as great as people say :) Manufacturing date is April 2004, so maybe no firmware update needed.
