What exactly does the 3.66 spoofer do?

    I'm assuming it "tricks" the console into thinking it's on 3.66 instead of 3.55 or 3.41, allowing newer games to boot. I'm also guessing that since Rebug 3.55 CFW is already 3.61 spoofed, it runs those newer games.

    No it doesn't allow newer firmware required games to run. It simply tricks the ps3 into thinking it is on 3.66 so it will not ask you to update the system.
