    Hi,

On my DVD recorder, I started recording a program from TV onto a DVD-R disc, but I have not finalized the disk because I can record other programs onto it. I took my unfinalized disk to a friend's DVD player and it doesn't work. It doesn't work on a computer DVD drive either. Is this because I have not finalized the disk? If I finalize the disk will it work on other DVD players or drives?

If you don't finalize the disc, the only way to play the disc is in the recorder that produced the disc ...
This is true with all discs except DVD+RW which, for just that reason is one of my favorites ...
