8x Taiyo Yuden DVD+Rs if you can't get any DVD-Rs to work. There are a very few exceptional slim PS2s, especially the recent versions, that absolute won't read DVD-Rs for some strange apparent reason so using DVD+Rs would be your only alternative if you wanted to play your backed-up games. As for other brands, Sonys are okay, but I don't like using them when burning games that have data practically near the outer rim; Maxells and Riteks I have little experience with, and Verbatims are exceptionally nice too.

I only use Sony because it is the best media i can find. Everything else is memorex or TDK, which suck (?)
