what is the best thing i can use for burning dvd rentals.

i use dvd shrink and nero 6 is there any thong better i can use cause some times the back ups do be a bit jumpy.

tomboe, I seriously doubt it is the software causing your problems. Too many others use the exact same apps with no problems. The problem lies with either your system, the operator, or your media in all likelihood. Changing apps is not going to solve the problem.

What media are you using, I recommend branded Ritek G04 or verbatim.

Did you install InCD with your Nero 6 package update? It can and will cause problems.

Are you leaving the PC alone while the app runs and while burning? IOW, no multitasking!

One other thing, are your ide settings set to DMA?

All of these things can cause problems. My 1st guess would be media, it will definitely cause the symptoms you described.

BTW tomboe.... rentals are fairly abused so the jitters might also be some of the scratches that aren't quite bad enough for a read error.

 

I thought burning dvd rentals was a breach of copyright in the majority of cases and countries, but I am only a newbie, what do we know.

 

It has been determined that since Blockbuster sells rental videos, people buy them and then can legally back them up.

If you feel someone has comitted piracy report it to a mod, and let them determine the appropriate response, our job is to make the forum a friendly, informative place to be.

 

Now that is something I haven't seen in a Long time, hats off to you bigorange - I think that statement is a good example to us all, rather than jumping in with both feet and beasting them....................

The content of these threads is getting really scary. It seems that everybody wears flavoured thongs. Is this while they are at their PCs or life in general! Nephilim, you need help! Back to your issue, the jumping and skipping are usually down to several variables.

Quality of media used, Riteks/verbatim/maxell are known good types.

Burning speed, faster speeds coupled with low grade media = problems, better to be slower - like with the ladies.

Try and keep your filesize (to be burned) lower than 4.35Gb as this will not burn the complete disc and avoid problems when reading the outer circumference.

Multitasking whilst burning and screensavers, especially when you are low on RAM.

These have been mentioned before, but I think they have been lost amongst the many ravenous thong eating afterdawners...................
