    i have used several programs that convert VCD/SVCD to DVD but the output file turns up with the extention of (*m2v) it this able to be burnt to a DVD using a program so that it will work on all DVD players by the DVD player thiinking it is an actual DVD. any help will be appreciated.

    The .M1V fle is the video part only (that is, without the sound) of a MPEG-1 file. With TMPGenc you can 'glue' the audio directly to the video if you have it (as a .WAV or as a sound contained in a .MPEG, but if you have a .M1V you miss the sound in it).
    If you have a .MP1, .MP2, .MP3, .MPA, .ABS, .AC3 file you can 'glue' them with TMPGenc using File-->MPEG Tools-->Simple Multiplex.
    But if you miss the sound in one of these forms.. ah there's no solution, sorry.
    In short, you can say MPEG(.MPG) = .M1V + .WAV (or .MP3, or .AC3, or whatever).
