what software is there for infinity 1.38? and how do you put it in?
There is no software especially for the the matrix infinity, except for obviously the firmware upgrades and the Infinity Manager, which lets you install bootable applications onto the memory card.
PS2 Reality Media Player: http://ps2r.dg2.org/150/main.html
(allows you to launch media files on your ps2)
(allows you to play SNES emulators on your ps2-my personal favourite)
These software can be booted via a CD with any modchip or SwapMagic. If you want more information, read the documentation before posting, you'll find everything you need to know.
Some modchips like the Matrix Infinity Homebrew allow you to boot your own homebrew applications (.elf files). To find out if your Matrix Infinity is a Homebrew modchip, hold X when you turn your ps2 on. If you see the matrix logo, then you have a Homebrew Infinity. If you are interested in making your own homebrew files, or if you want to see more software written by other people, then this site is pretty interesting: http://ps2dev.org/ Hope that helps.
Oh and if you want the Infinity Manager you can find it here: http://www.infinitymod.com/cgi-bin/matrix/site.pl?page=infinity_software scroll down to Infinity Manager and click download. Have fun =)
