What type of Media do the PS2 uses?

    I'm having problem trying to find out if it is dvd-r or dvd+r. And I have a V1 system.

    if you have a v1 ps2 would recomend that you use dvd-r discs as your v1 probably wont read dvd+r

    and what about a v4 ntcs ps2? will it read a dvd+r media?

    v1-3 read dvd-r
    v4-up read dvd-r and dvd+r.

    Not all v4 will read dvd+r so only get 1 or 2 discs to try out first.

    so if i burn a game using dvd-r it'll work on any mod-chip???

    its not the mod chip that determines if your PS2 can play DVD-R, its your PS2. Most likely DVD-R will work on any console with any chip(ones that support DVD backups)but i have heard of a couple cases where a PS2 wont read any type of media.
