Hello all, I am debating whether I should buy a ATi x1950PRO 512 or a nVidia Gainward 7800GS+ (plus) I know the Ati is slightly better, but I currently have a nVidia now and dont feel like uninstalling all the drivers, I just want to pop it in and play BF2 maxed. I could overclock it to be like the x1950, since the 2 cards dont have a huge difference in power. What do you think? Gainward card: http://www.gainward.com/en/product/product_detail_v8453.html ATi card: http://ati.amd.com/products/radeonx1950/specs.html Thanks!
see if you can find the ATI x1950XT 256mb, and if you can buy that instead of the 1950PRO...if not buy the 1950pro. if you don't want to buy the 1950PRO then buy a 7900GS for about the same price as the 7800GS. and don't be lazy with your drivers, try to install the latest drivers for your video card because it might make the games you are playing run smoother.
Thanks for the quick reply! What card do you think will play Crysis the best? (I have agp, so they cant be 8 series or 2900 series) I could only find those in PCI-e, so x1950Pro or 7800GS+?
Currently the best card on AGP is the X1950XT by Gecube, but it's quite expensive...so get the 1950PRO which is better than any nVidia card on AGP.
Does this card come in a 512mb version? Also, is this the best AGP card out there? Thanks PS, do you know the mhz that the memory runs at? Also, I have read some reviews on this from newegg and they say that this thing runs like a beast. It gets really hot! Is this true? I would be playing BF2 BF2142 and possibly Crysis
