Run Xmpeg, once installed, open DVD and right click on video image. An option will be given to extract audio. You can select several output formats including MP3. Xmpeg is shareware, without fees or limitations.

THANKS for your help everyone. I've just finished ripping the audio from Talking Heads' "Stop Making Sense" -fantastic!!!. You may ask yourself, well-how did I get here? The answer is:
By using XMPEG -thanks jgman!! Had to split it up using GoldWave ( www.goldwave.com) Although I could get the AC2 file or whatever using DVDdecrypter I didnt have time to continue much further with converting that to MP3. Will have a go at Audacity when I get a chance!! Thanks again. Thanks for your patience with the newbie.
