If i'm watching the 'free in the box' Bourne movie on an HD-A3 thats set to output at 720p and i'm watching on a 720p TV (Samsung LNT3242H), what resolution am I watching in?

I ask because on the back of the HD-DVD case it says the content is recorded in 1080i and 480p.

    I'm assuming i'm watching a 'downscaled' 720p?

    Thanks,

    Grungen

As long as you have the right side of the combo in then yes it is downscaling 1080p to 720p. How's it look?

Well, honestly, I couldn't tell the difference at first. I think, in part, cos I'm sitting quite far away from a relatively small tv (~12 ft from 32inch).

So, I tried watching the first 2 mins of '300' in 720p, then 480p and then 720p again while sitting ~6ft away and the difference was very evident.

All happy! Thanks for the reply.
