hey, im a n00b and i have a question... what is the difference between all of the videogame formats? there is pal, and ntsc, etc. and what is the difference between them? i use swap magic 3.3 and i made a backup of my splinter cell chaos theory, and it will only load in ntsc and even then, the cinematics are messed up. ive made a backup of katamari damacy and it keeps freezing and i dont know why.
can someone please explain how it all works? and why do certain patches need to be applied to certain games?

"PAL (Phase Alternating Line) TV standard was introduced in the early 1960's in Europe. It has better resolution than in NTSC, having 625 lines/frame, but the framerate is slightly lower, being 25 frames/sec"
