When i back up a DVDm why is it .VOB and not a playable file?

    The above DVDm thing was a typo, sorry about that

    First off id like to apolagise if i am repeating any questions that have been asked before, but when i used search i could nt find one that related to me directly!

    I think the subject sort of sums up my problem, the other major aspect here is a tech dumby, alot of the technical terms go right over my head and i get confused!

    I have tried DVD Decryptor, Any DVD, DVD Clone and DVD Shrink. When i asked a person in a PC shop they said it sould be playable, and its never happened to him!!

    What am i doing wrong?

    You need an mpeg-2 decoder to view .vobs ...DVD software players come with these, such as PowerDVD, WinDVD, Sonic CinePlayer. These are commerical products and aren't free. Here's a free program that can play your dvd since ti has its own internal mpeg-2 decoder:
