which is best Wasabi 360 or X360key?

I have a flagged Phatt console, i never go online. I'm loking for a faster way to get games from the computer to the xbox. and save a bit on disks.

I posted a while back but i'm coming back to it again.

    Any advice welcome.
any good UK shops selling these.
    or any recomnded Hard drives.
What is a good esata HDD? (or is it just the encloseure that make it esata?)

    --

    Wasabi 360

    seems slightly better price
and supports esata (faster) connection as well as usb.
also wasabi has onscreen game loading (ie from xbox dash menu)
wasabi can only have them in the root dir. (no organisation)

    x360key

    can have games in folders
but you need to be in front of you to use it
seems to have better support or following and a working website
    (are they a better company?)

About the connected HDD for the ISOs:

Can either support USB powered drives? (ie no external power supply needed)
Will i still need to instal games? (i do it to stop the Optical disk noise)
I assume esata would need a separate power supply, is that correct? (but it would be faster)

But i'm concerned about whether either will have support in the future?

And why it only works on some dashboards?

    Cheers any input appreciated

    --other notes--
my xbox is flagged but other people may not be..
booting without the HDD switched on(if it has a separate power supply - not USB powered) (ie no emulated drive) may trigger the xbox to flag the event for a ban.
NEITHER support LIVE when switched on.
this would be harder to do with a USB powered drive.

1.)could be wrong, but dont think so.
    2.)optical noise from what?
3.)if plan on using esata hd, esata data connects to wasabi, but still need esata pwr. yes its faster (prob not real noticeable).
4.)xkey seems to have the best support so far.
    5.)depends on their support.

    dont forget x360dock. www.x360dock.com

    cheers bud

By optical disk noise I mean the disk drive hoover sound when a game loads, I had ps3 before.

I got an x360 key in the end so I'll post back when it's set up

Also quick now xkey can load games from the xbox onscreen menu

    not too impressed so far

i got a bus (USB cable)powered HDD but when i turn the machine off the HDD just half powers and keeps clicking. its bad design that the xkey doesn't turn off the HDD USB.

    I'm looking into solutions

    more update:

so far so good xkey works like a charm

    things to consider
all info is on their forum

    BAD
-a bit fiddley to fit (with the ribbon usb)
-the remote can get snapped by the usb cable!!! (remote is not needed if you use the ISOMENU option) i am only using the remote for multi disk games. so it stays in the drawer.
-lots of bad copy sites (difficult to find the genuine xkey)
    -pirates come without a remote

some usb cables dont power some HDD (try different cable before you buy a hub) hubs can damage the xbox. (but this is not the xkey fault)

    GOOD
-no need to patch topology on games
-may not need to instal games (usb is still faster than the dvd drive)
-no crappy disc noise from xbox
-I simply plug the portable HDD in to the xkey (i got an intenso 500) and unplug it when i finished gaming. (USB stays powered)
-REFLASH or update ie EASY -to update the xkey to 'new settings' or 'reflash' you just add a config file on the root of the drive. takes seconds and no need to pop the xbox.(Activate the ISOMENU (load games from the xbox screen)
    - update to new beta firmware no need for topology
    - remote update needed a PC though
    - firmware spoofing was a breeze (but i already had my key file)
    - games in folders
    - no miss burns , burn time, disc costs, lazer head wear

     -to set up the isomenu
    change config file to ISOMENU=ON
put in root of portable HDD or usb stick
xkey updates on plug it in to ISOMENU on
remove config file from HDD so it doesnt update every time (if its he same HDD fro games)

    on xbox - ISOMENU
power with power button or controller
eject disc (nothing eject because it is accesssing the xkey)
search for 'picture library' - find game isos here
press eject using xbox or eject on the screen
    game loads!!
    simple

    Cool i think that's it

too expensive though, but i do like it

The Wasabi 360 is junk and can easily be patched to be blocked. The xkey can boot games 3 different ways. With the remote which is hard to break (only an idiot would break it) Ingore the guy above. The isomenu which is on the 360 picture viewer page. Or you can get the Wifi dongle and boot games from your phone, computer or any device that can get on the local lan.

Even if they patch the dash, it won't patch out the remote or the wifi dongle. Much better peice.

If M$ decides to patch the dash, the Wasabi is a throw away as they have no other method of booting games.

    Cheers for the extra info.

    "ignore the guy above"

Xkey have warnings on their forum and in the manual about not snapping the xkey remote.
Some xkey users have snapped their remote by wriggling the usb cable.

    "ignore the manufacturers guidelines"

Inside the micro usb it's not metal (like on every other micro usb I have) it's just a bit of snappy circuit board. Plus xkey are considering changing the usb to a mini usb not micro.

I the manufacturers warning. The xkey remote feels cheap compared to say ck3 kit.

    just defending my post

I think the wasabi looks pretty solid IMHO I purchased one just to see how it is. My xk3y is giving me a few problems now so I will see who is better. Also they said even if their current method was patched that they have an alternative ready.

The wasabi doesn't have near the support the xkey has. Xkey has so many third party it's not even funny

Correct. And they're constantly cracking new XBoxs. They've got great support. No model XBox is safe from the xkey.

I think he's talking about the new feature that was added in firmware 1.21 which lets you create an image for the xkey that is setup like a dvd menu thats looks nicer and is supposedly more easier. Not really necessary to me but you would have to re-create it every time you add a new game.

If I were to put that much money into this I'd get the xbox 360 RGH'd. It costs about the same as an xkey and can do way more (DLC...), especially on a flagged box that doesn't go online at all.
And by the way: You start saving money after about 4.5 years with an xkey (if the harddrive works that long), so lilup's argument is pretty much bull...
