Yes I got confused between Pioneer and Plextor...

    ------------------------------------------------

    Hi, me again.

Been reading up on the Plextor drives.

Is the Plextor 716A newer than the Pioneer 109 ?

The 716A seems faster and better, but curious to see if the Pioneer 109 is newer.

Noticed the Pioneer 109 has 2000 kb of buffer, where the 716A has 8196 kb of buffer.

    The 716A seems interresting !

I'd say it's down to personal preference - whichever catches your fancy. Pioneer and Plextor are the top two makers in the business so the quality, performance and firmware updates will be on par with each other.
