i've been using DVD X Copy for a few years now and i see it's out of date, and there are other alternatives. i just wanted to get some input on which program or programs are good for ripping, compression, and burning. i have a single layer dvd burner so with that information hopefully someone can lend some advice. thanks
DVDCopy3 from InterVideo. http://www.intervideo.com It's a bit pricey, but I think it has the others beat right now. DVD Decrypter is the best ripper of its type for ripping files to the HD; best of all it's free. http://www.dvddecrypter.com AnyDVD is a driver decrypter and another favorite; retail though. I let it run all the time, even when ripping with Decrypter. http://www.slysoft.com DVD Shrink is the best in ripping/encoding software when it comes to freeware and better than many retail apps. You should give these a road test, they're either free or have a full function trial. The AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter, DVDCopy3 combination is one of my favorites. RB/CCE may be something you would be interested in for high quality encoding. It does take up time though.
