I'm going to buy a harddrive for my ps2, but I don't know whether to get a Seagate Barracuda 120.0GB Internal Hard Drive or a Maxtor Ultra 120.0GB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive. I hear a lot of people say that the Maxtor is better and fits better inside your playstation than the Seagate. Does anybody know if this is true. Which harddrive should I get? P.S.(I might get a smaller or larger harddrive than listed, depends on my funds).

I have both a Seagate Barracuda 300gb and a SONY 40gb HDD. Both of them are awesome ... but the issue boils down to space. The Sony is only 40gb, but you can download saves off your mem card, download official SOCOM maps and see your HDD in your browser. But that's it. It's more expensive than a regular HD and Sony has very little support for it. Since SONY hit me with no Vaseline, I am going Seagate.

    Check the site: http://ps2drives.x-pec.com/

And it will answer your questions about compatibility and such.

And it boils down to how much money you have. If you have a lot of cash, go at least 300gb. HD Advance 2.0 supports it, and you can d/l hacked versions of HD Loader that supports it too.

If you put in a 200GB HD Maxtor 7200RPM Ultra, will the PS2 read all 200GB or is there a limit?

Check out tha site above ... and type in your HD specs to see if they are compatible. And for the record, you can put over 300gb with HD Advance and hacked versions of HDLoader. HDAdvance could see 279gb of space with my 300gb. And trust me ... you can pack like 80 games on that junk. Sweet!!!!
