I have 2 video cards that I both got for free from a friend. They are
    128MB ATi FireGL V5000
    256MB ATi Radeon X600 Pro
I put the 256MB in my computer due to the MB's being more but I was wondering, which one is actually better?

Can't be sure, but I'm pretty sure that ddp wanted you to read both of those links. But a quick summary would be:

    1) the v5000 is a CAD workstation video card.
    2) the x600 is a budget gaming card that's about 18 months old.

That being said; If you're only allowed to keep one, you should keep the v5000, sell it and buy a much better gaming videocard.

Of the two, the v5000 is much more valuable.

I did a quick check on ebay of selling prices. Turns out both will on average net you about the same price $55-65. Though only 2 V5000 have sold in the last month, and about 30 of the X600 Pro cards have sold on ebay in the same time.

So if you were gonna sell one to buy a new card the X600 would probably be easier to sell.

I don't plan to sell either one, I am asking which one is better for me to keep and use for gaming.

I don't know if you read my post or not, it's 2 above yours...

but just to be clear; For gaming, the x600 is better.
