Question Why are some graphics cards rated as good for Esports?

I'm in the market for a new graphics card. My GTX 260 gave out.

I was reading an article from Tom's Hardware. The article indicated that some cards are better for Esports than others.

I have a basic understanding of what Esports is. However, I'm not sure what makes some cards better for Esports than others.

I'm very curious about what this distinction means. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
