I've been trying to burn for a long time without much progress. My problem is, everytime I try to burn anime using Nero, I'll always make it to the point to when it's about to burn it on to the DVD itself but it always Stops. No idea what the problem is...

I use a HP DVD740e as my burner
    I use Maxell 4.7GB DVD+R's
I use an older Version of Nero 7
All my files are already converted into .VOB files
I use NeroVision 4 when Burning
I even bought a Brand New 320GB HD and my problem still occurs.

It gets me irritated since I usually wait 2-3 hours for the anime to even get ready to burn, After all that waiting it'll always mess up on the burning process. I will tell you that I tried burning 1 single episode yesterday and it finally worked, but when I tried to burn 4 or 5 it always freezes... Can someone help me out?

you converted your files to VOB (DVD compliant files), then why are you using NeroVision and not Nero Burning Rom or Nero Recode? Would love to see a Nero log! NeroVision would be used to convert files, Nero Burning Rom would be used if you have DVD video that fits onto a DVD5 or DVD9, and Nero Recode if you have more than one video file to add to a DVD5 or DVD9! Let's look at a log please.

So your saying I was using the wrong program? Everytime I bring up Nero Startsmart I would always click on Make DVD- Video and it would take me to Nero Vision. But if it'll work with a different program i'll try it out

the file is from Roxio, or also can come in through WinAmp. If Roxio/Sonic installed then he/she will need Roxio Zapper to uninstall the program. As Nero and Roxio/Sonic sometimes have issues with each other! Uninstall Roxio/Sonic and run the zapper:
    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml

try closing some programs that are running in the background, no internet while burning, no multi tasking, and some members even shut their anti virus software off while burning!

not the best of media. Use media MIJ (made in Japan) or Verbatim!

turn your DMA on....... here's how:
    http://my.afterdawn.com/alkohol/blog_entry.cfm/231/dmaissues

and if you have start smart..... look to the left where APPLICATIONS are listed..... pick your program there! If your files don't need conversion then use Nero Burning Rom or Nero Recode (I would pick Nero Recode!).

Okay I followed everything you said to do except to use different Media. I plan on ordering Taiyo Yuden or Verb soon.
Well this Time I started burning the same exact thing using Nero Recode this time. The first time trying it made it to about 43% before an error happened. The Second and third time, The drive would keep on opening up and it would say insert blank DVD. I had a Blank DVD in there everytime and yet nothing worked... Think you can help me out again

why didn't you post your failed Nero log? Every time you have another problem please post your Nero log so we can see what went wrong, if you did make the changes and so forth! And it's important to use better media..... it's the easiest thing you can do and it stops many common problems from happening and it's something that IS in your control to fix right away! Starting off with good media is so important and most people dismiss it because they have a blank disk in their hands! It does matter what disk you are using .... some players have issues with certain manufactured disks because it doesn't have a write strategy in it's firmware to burn to properly so then you come up with errors! And it doesn't matter if you have a spindle of cheapo media.... not all disks made are put up to a quality standard when they are in production so when you buy cheapo media in a spindle you might get some that are not up to snuff and will not burn the same as others! There are some instances that some spindles will actually have different manufacturers of the same brand! So they are not the same even though it's the same brand! Stick with the MIJ rule. Or just buy Verbatim made in Singapore/Taiwan..... stay away from the Verbatim made in India (lesser quality).

Can not seem to find a newer firmware update for your drive.

Well there's my failed Nero Log. I'll order the new Media Later on today. It'll take a couple days to get here using Newegg. But if I can help in any other way than just say so.

are you using your Samsung drive to read the DVD? if so you still have a DMA problem that might cause your 2-3 hour processing time! Please try to reset your drives DMA setting:
    http://my.afterdawn.com/alkohol/blog_entry.cfm/231/dmaissues

When the error code is all zeros, there are many cases where the error code the drive produces is not received by the program due to an unstable connection or interference from running programs. If the problem is not solved when you try the suggested actions, get your drive checked.

    **030C08
    Write error - recovery failed
There are many cases where there is a problem with the disc, or information cannot be retrieved from the disc properly. The computer may be unstable or try a new disc.

let's see what happens when you get new media!

I got brand new Verbatim DVD+R 16X. After trying to burn once again using Nero Recode, it stopped at 13% this time. So if the media isn't my problem than I'm guessing it's my driver. But I'll wait to see what someone has to say first

Nero is not writing anything....... check the 0MB! not good! something is going on with Nero why it's not writing anything! and that's why it says:
don't know what else to tell you! check that your drive is hooked up correctly?! How old is your burner? how old is the computer? and when did you get Nero? maybe it's time to update Nero to a better version of Nero 7:
use a more stable version of Nero 7: 7.5.7.0
Before updating to this version .... save your serial #, uninstall Nero, then use this free registry cleaner called CCleaner, then Nero7 Clean tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html reboot and defrag!

and then reinstall 7.5.7.0 from here
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?1708

    it's worth a try!
