    I just bought a brand-new Sony Vaio RA820G
    Desktop, and my DVD burner won't work. The same
    drive also burns CDs, and that function works
    (at least on Imation; it doesn't burn Memorex CDs).
    It doesn't even read the blank DVD disc in the drive. I've
    tried plus and minus, different brands, but nothing
    works. What gives?
    I think the software it uses is DVD 2.1.10 (?).
    It says that it will take either DVD - or +,
    but, like I said, neither works. Do you have
    any suggestions? I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks

    @TDY,

    If you have nothing to offer, don't reply.

    @allenyhua,

    You really haven't offered any useful information. Just saying it doesn't work doesn't help much. Alot of the times burning is user error and not hardware.

    It would help if you gave us the make and model of your burner. Tell us what programs your using (be specific). What your trying to do? (backup dvd movies, burn data dvds, etc ..)? What errors your getting?
