why dont these dvd's work?

    Why is that when i burn a video onto a dvd disc into a .dvd format, it doesnt work on a regular dvd player but one that plays vcd's and all regular movie dvd's? im using convertxtodvd program. thanks.

    What speed are u burning?

    What brand of dvds r ru using?

    you might try going to videohelp.com and type in your model number of your standalone dvd player and see what or what not type of disks it will play

    pio4030- & are you burning back-ups of your own dvd's or are you downloading clips from the internet - sometimes there is a quality issue with downloaded video!

    It could be one the following problems -

    Some DVD players (especially older ones) just wont play DVD-R's, or

    Are you sure you burned it in DVD Video mode? DVD Video disks have the files in a particular order on the disk: First the .IFO, then the .VOB and finally the .BUP. Some DVD players insist on this sequence, others don't care.
