Why is this happening to me?!??!! VHS capturing issue..

    Hi, Does anyone know why im getting diagonal lines across my capture?? The source is an old VHS.Im using nVidia Vivo graphics card and VirtualVCR for capturing.
    Please let there be a solution...

    Looks like the signal was weak when it was recorded.

    are diagonal lines characteristic of weak signal? Iss there anything that can be done about it? Ive tried post capture filters and it helps abit...

    could possibly be EMI signal interference. make sure the VCR and all cables to and from the capture device are moved away from other electrical equipment such as your monitor, speakers, stereo, refrigerator, etc...

    you might also make a trip to wal-mart or radioshack and get some high quality sheilded composite cables.

    hmm, if its the cabling wouldnt this effect be prevalent in all of my captures??? I have successfully captured one VHS before this one without these lines...

    Get a better VCR, or try adjusting the heads (tracking).
