I have looked around and only seem to find modchip threads. Is there anyway to play backup Wii games with soldering. Something similar to Swap Magic or something like that?

I have searched and there only seems to be conversation about modchips. Am I supposed to take that and figure out that that is the only way to be done. All I need is a yes or no.

I found a thread that talks about waiting for the Action replay in August but that thread is kind of old. Is that still the case?

For the moment the answer is NO. Modchips are the ONLY way to use backups, and all mod chips require soldering. The mod chips these days are fairly easy to install even for a novice compared to the nightmare of some PS2 installs. Also you can buy a Wii premodded for a fairly reasonable price or get an installer to do it for you.
