    Try some Verbatim. Normally ok.

    Verbatim

    browse the list at amazon.

    The List

    Small Guide.
    Verbatim with DVD+R and DVD-R

    DVD-R
MCC01RG20 = burn at 4x since it's max is 4x can be done at 8x on most burners but i don't recommend it unless you have the best burner there is
MCC02RG20 = burn at 8x since it's max is 8x can be done at 12x on most burners but i don't recommend it unless you have the best burner there is
MCC03RG20 = burn at 8x or 12x if burner can do it and if you have a good burner. they are 16x but those two lower speeds come out better and more guaranteed given their variability.

    DVD+R
MCC 002 = burn at 4x since it's max is 4x can be done at 8x on most burners but i don't recommend it unless you have the best burner there is
MCC 003 = burn at 8x since it's max is 8x can be done at 12x on most burners but i don't recommend it unless you have the best burner there is
MCC 004 = burn at 8x or 12x if burner can do it and if you have a good burner. they are 16x but those two lower speeds come out better and more guaranteed given their variability.

Other people have had +R work fine. Just because you couldn't use the +Rs you have, it doesn't mean others will have the same results. It depends of the media itself. Some brands of -R won't work either.

360 games REQUIRE Dual Layer discs and wii doesn't need them

    Friend i just said RECCOMEND
am not the only one that has problems with +R and yeah there is a way to burn +R dvd's you have to put your booksettings to DVD-ROM

and maybe some even had luck burning it just at ones on +r

i just said reccomend not just becaus i had luck with -R but becaus lots and lots of people have luck with -R and not with +r

Yup! I use full size 4.7gig DVD-R for both Wii and GameCube games.

    I'd stay away from Maxell

Wii will most likely require dual layer discs in trhe next 2 years as games get bigger cirrently wii games take up around 96% of a DVD and thats just the first gen of games there is about 3 more to come.

I just modded my wii today and I backed up my games on dvd-r media at 16x using HP brand. My games will play on my Wii. 1 problem is with Warioware Smooth Moves. The starting video sequence in choppy on the backup but fine on the original.

Is anyone else having this problem?

All my other games work fine burned at 16x (only exception is they seem to load a little slower) -- not much slower

I burned the game on same media at 4x, same problem, backed up again on dvd+r at 4x and the wii could recognize what game it was but as soon as i went to play it, it popped the screen that the console couldn't recognize the disc.

+r media may be out of the question.

Only other thing I could think of is that the wii recognizes the burned media and slows down reading like most dvd drives do in computers.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this yet, so I guess I will....

Verbatim's are the best, -R's work for me. Best buy is selling 50 pack of Verbatim 4.7 +R and -R's right now for 12.99. That's better than newegg so get 'em while they last people!

I am sorry to say Verbatim DVD-R's did not help my situation. At least They were only $12.99 and I have many other applications that can use them. Thanks for the suggestion.

Anyone else ?? WarioWare Smooth Moves? choppy cut scene video?

I have the D2B DVD chipset. If anyone wants to try the same game and let me know what happens, feel free?
