I've got a Jap Wii which is on firmware 2.0J.

There's a couple of games I have that, which come up with a message as soon as I start them.

I assume this might be a message stating that the firmware needs to be updated and to select 'OK' to proceed?

Could anyone verify the message please.

    Cheers

did u actually read your question before u posted it to see how stupid it sounds?

u r asking someone to verify a message on a japanese console that comes up when u put a couple of games in it

how the hell can they verify it if you don't say which games?
maybe one says press ok to blow up your wii
and other says press ok to update your wii
maybe its saying i am gonna brick your wii

guess it will the person who tried to help u's fault then

it would probably be helpful if u said which games, which region these games were
if your wii is modded - if yes with which chip

u cannot be helped if u dont ask the right question and provide the essential information

    more details please

What game backups are you running ?

What region games are you running ?

If your firmware is 2.0J I would not suggest updating the WII only update VIA Internet

Did you actually think about what you type either? It's idiots like you that give forums a bad name.

I'm well aware of what I wrote. I've put the same question in many forums as I was simply hoping that someone that could read Japanese (and there are undoubtedly hundreds of thousands who visit these type of forums) and tell me what the message meant.

The fact that the message comes up immediately would most likely serve as a big enough clue to someone that's already come across firmware updates etc.

So basically, if you can't even engage a post without getting personal, then (and I'll meet you on your level) STFU.

The game in question was Biohazard (NTSC-J). I suspect that the message is telling me to / or is going to update the console.

However, I'm hoping that can read Japanese can verify.

if u have put the same question to many forums then i am guessing none of those would be able to help u from such meagre clues that u provided. The fact that u assume someone is able to ascertain what the message was when it could be different for every single game astounds me. How do u know its not just the author of the game saying hello to his mum?

i suggest you take what you can learn from this useless post u made and try a lot harder next time. Even the search could never in a million years come up with an answer to your nondescript post

i asked u if u had realised how poor your question was, however i didnt personally attack you, i leave that to your level

I got to agree with Thinone on this 1.

How are we to help if we do not know what the message says when loading the game.

If you don't know the Japanese language then maybe you shouldn't have gotten a Japaneses console.

But I will take a guess and say the Wii is prompting for an update. Since the game is an NTSC(J) Game Disc then it should be ok to update. (This is just a guess so don't come complaining to me if your Wii gets bricked)

This is a good way to not get help off this forum.

Lately the newbies that have signed up have had an attitude toward the regulars that answer most of the questions on this site. Yes some of the answers might be sarcastic but like this question and others I have seen the sarcasm is warranted.

Just keep in mind that we are the ones that answer the questions around here. We can very well either start ignoring the questions or take our knowledge to another forum.

Do you have the Wii connected to a wireless router? It should've updated with the latest firmware automatically.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm only interested in the error message with someone that CAN read the message.

I don't expect anyone else to be able to read the message, because as you say there's very little else to go on. This will obviously be more than enough of a clue, in fact it won't be a clue it will state exactly what the message relates to.

So, if you understand Japanese then your help is appreciated otherwise I see no value in responding to this post.

Post a picture and I might be able to help you homeboy. But it's easy enough to just update your wii manually. Menu Translations

As I stated above more then likely it is an update prompt. Normally this is what you get when inserting a game disc with an update on it.

All we have done is assumed what the message probably says.

Just as anyone that can speak Japanese can only assume what the message says since there is no image of the message.

Also you have been given advice to update to 2.2J firmware. That way you will not get your Wii bricked by updating your Wii with the wrong firmware that comes on the game disc itself.

If these are NTSC(J) Game Disc then you will be safe to use the game disc to update the firmware.
