    please can someone help me i know i will sound stupid but here i go anyway. i have bought a wii for my son and someone told him he can play cube games on it is this true and does it need to be chipped many thanks and sorry for sounding stupid.

    Yes you can play GameCube games on the Wii. The Wii does not need to be chipped unless they are backups.

    the Wiikey is a Wii modchip which will allow you to play backups.

    One thing I didn't realize until I'd had my Wii a month or so... You need GameCube controllers to play the GameCube games. There are 3 kinds of controllers: Wii, GameCube, and Virtual Console Controller. They aren't interchangable. Most games will work with one of the three, and not the other two. Virtual Console games are the ones you buy from the 'Shopping Channel' in the Wii itself.
