I soldered my WiiKey onto my Wii, following the diagram. Now, original games (RE4, Wii Sports) will work fine, but I can't seem to get backup anything working. I am not 100% sure I've done the setup for the discs right, so I'm kinda lost for sure.

What would I have done wrong that the Wii originals would work, but not backups?

Edit: As I think about it, could it be the discs themselves that I'm using? I first tried on Maxell DVD+R single-layer discs, but have some Imation DVD-R discs I might be able to try as well. . .

Something wrong with the soldering, maybe?!?!

Did you use pad, short-wire, or long-wire soldering?

Consider de-soldering the wiikey and reinstalling it. I prefer the long-wire method.

Or test all solder points for bridging and /ot lack of contact.

Forgive my ineptitude on this, but what do you use to test contact/bridging?
