i read that a dvd + burner could read - dvd's and that it just couldnt burn it. is this true???
No, generally not. The Pioneer DVR105 can read +R DVD's even though it burns -R media. To do this, the firmware has to be mega hacked lol.
Some burns can I think can read both, but write only the specified media. I have a Toshiba SDR6015 burner that is a DVD-RW drive, but I can read some DVD+ disks. I read this was possible, and asked if any one tried this but no one answered. In my lab some one gave me a file on a Sony DVD+ disc and I copied the file to my notebook without thinking. Then later I realized, why did I not have problems. The disc was burned using Roxio6 and I have Roxio6 on my notebook. That may be why, but I still could see the disc and get files from it._X_X_X_X_X_[small]I am not a number
