I searched and couldn't find any information on this. Say I buy a DVD player with a DVI (HDCP enabled) hookup. Is this going to prevent me from playing my backed up DVD movies as long as I use the DVI hookup? I looked for some explanation of how exactly HDCP works but couldn't find anything quickly. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    No.
HDCP is the copy protection method implemented on the DVI interface to protect digital content.

It's not on the DVD disc.
