wasn't real sure where to post this, so here it is. I am converting a bunch of Hi8's to DVD, and would like to hear some thoughts as to what kind of difference upgrading my Athlon XP 2100+ to a 2600+ CPU would make. I've already seen on several forums that upgrading RAM makes a big difference, so I'm already going to up the 512 it currently has as well.
    Thanks in advance!

Every thign that is faster will make your system go faster. How much? I'm not sure but the processor speed will help wwith the encoding speed and the memory NEVER hurts.

The faster the processor the better. No better example than when you capture video. The faster the processor, also the better resolution you can capture without dropped frames. You should get some good video with the 2600.
