I've talked with people here about installing a WD Hard Drive into an old HP Pavilion 8755c with ME on it. I finally got it installed as the Primary Master but still can't reinstall the OS on it.

Here's the problem and the question:

I'm trying to use the ME recovery discs set that came with the PC to reinstall the files. However I keep getting a message reading

" Error : The Hard Disk was not found! Recovery was aborted. If you have a hard disk installed, the cables may be loose or the disk may not be initialized. You may need to run the FDisk program to initialize the disk ..."

I don't have startup disk and the HD is recognized in the BIOS as Primary Master.

Do I need installation disks instead of recovery discs?
