Ok here is the deal. DvD audio. Will it ever happen? Does anyone know of any standard that is being discussed if it is on the way? It would be a much higher quality than cda obviously. Also it will be easier to make. Not many people know this, but DvD's can be stamped. And bonus video may be available on the DvD also. Let me people know what you think about it.

DVD-A already exists. I've moved the thread to brand-new high resolution audio forum. You might want to check out the other threads for more information.

DVDA does exist, and the standard is well defined. Go to http://www.discwelder.com/low/low_frameset.htm
and get the white paper on DVDA.
You will NOT get video on a DVDA disc, but you might get it on a universal DVDA if the VTS issues ever get sorted out.
Video is DVDV, with Dolby Digital or DTS soundtracks plus a PCM stereo one if you are lucky.
