win 3.1 file recovery

    heres what happend.

    a friend of mine was working with a spread sheet file she had already saved but there wasnt enough space on the disk to allow a save. so she exited but now she cant find the file. she didnt delete the file. from dos is there a way i can search for that file? or even from within windows?

    Easiest way in DOS would be to go to your root directory and type dir filename.ext /s , obvioulsy put your filename in there and it will search all subdirectories for you and show you where it is, otherwise use filemanager in Windows and use the search function.
