How would I go and configure a dual boot PC with Windows XP and Mac OSX? Is there an aftermarket bootloader that I could use or could I just install something like Ubuntu and use that boot loader?

Mac OSX is specifically designed to run on Mac hardware. If you're looking to run legitimate OSX, you'll need a newer Intel Mac. With the Intel Mac, you'll be able to run Windows in a virtual machine by using a program such as Parallels. For a while, Apple was offering a program called bootcamp that would allow you to install Windows, but the last I heard, they're no longer offering bootcamp.
