Recently, when I play either downloaded music files or a music CD through my Windows Media Player, I get terrible distortion in sound. The only alteration to my system recently was when my son installed an additional hard disk, but I can't think that would have any effect on the media player's performance. If I log on to, say, radio stations, the quality is great, but I am annoyed that I can't get good quality sound via the Media Player. Has anyone any thoughts ? Thanks, Doug.
Uninstall WMP 10, reboot, download WMP 10 from here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/ install reboot.
No problems using either Winamp or Real Player - that's why I can't understand how this has just happened with WMP However, will try the Uninstall / Download as suggested. Thanks, Doug.
