Window's Vista

    Sorry if this is a repost or not in the correct section im new to the forums but, I have a window's vista install cd that is for a Dell computer.I was wondering if I could install it on my HP computer?They sent me the wrong disk, I was wanting to check to see if I would be able to do this?Thank You.

    Depends.

    If it's a recovery DVD...which would be used for restoration of your hard drive, then no.

    If it's a full version DVD...all you need is a legit key to install it on the second machine. OEM versions are tied to the system (or part) they came with...so basically, your Dell OEM DVD isn't supposed to be used to install on any other computer.
