I am hoping someone can help me solve this problem.I have recently put XP Pro onto my system but everytime I try to shut it down it just restarts my computer!! even when I choose stand by it still restarts my computer again.
Does anyone have any ideas of why this would be??

This is probably along shot but did you recently download anything that be conflicting with anything else such as 2 antivirus programs runnuning at the same time or anything else

I was transfering one antivirus program to another and they were both rununig at the same time and the damn thing would even start up. it kept rebooting itself so I had to go into safe mode to remove the antivirus that I didn't want

like I said might be along shot

Thanks geestar20 for you help. After checking out that link I found out that my scanner was the problem. As soon as i disabled it I was able to shut down my computer. Just means that now I have to buy a new scanner as I cant find the correct driver for mine anywhere :-(

    Thanks again, much appreciated.
