Why is it everytime WinDVD starts up, it cranks the volume up on my PC to about 3/4 the way up?
I can't find any setting to stop that. I have WinDVD 6.

    Thanks,
    Mike

This may or may not be related but Windvd does change my power settings so that my monitor never shuts off. It actually creates it's own power profile. Perhaps you could poke around that area and see if there some link between your sound settings and power settings and or profiles.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I know it does that too - another thing that irks me about it.
Nothing in power settings about sound though.
I wonder if Cyberlink's player does the same thing.
