Hello I am going insane trying to figure out a way to make this work. I have used different configurations and methods to install from CDs and directly from iso's right on to my ps2 hard drive. I successfully install the games just to find out when I put the hard drive back in my ps2 and try to play the game the icon reads "hd loader" which I do not yet have a copy of and when I select the game it says "insert disc" what am I doing wrong? I copied a CD game and when it said "insert disc" I put the cd in and it said "wrong disc" so I am asuming it means insert HD loader. Is there any way I can install isos directly from my pc to my ps2 hard drive without getting the insert disc error? Do I need a copy of hd loader? Any help or direction to a thread in this forum would be much appreciated as I have never found this issue addressed.

Booting backed up games from a harddrive:

    1. The drive must be formatted using HDLoader or HDAdvance or WinHIIP, not Sony's drive disc.
    2. You must have the original HDLoader or HDAdvance, OR have an exploit loaded on a memory card in order to boot to the harddrive. See http://www.maxconsole.com/?mode=comments&newsid=2387 for more info.
