Am I the only person on the planet that uses the visualizations in wmp11??
    saddo or what?
Any way, the first thing wmp11 does when I upset it, is sulk by withdrawing its visualizations!
I've had this happen too many times, and never found a work around other that a complete re-install which messes up all my library and art work, and takes two days to sort out again.
Some clever sod out there must have worked out an easier way to get them back without re-installing...surely??

I'm begining to think that perhaps I'm the only person in the world that even uses Windows Media Player!!
I've posted this problem on several sites, and not one response!
    Anyone think they're clever enough???

    vsclassic,
My question is, how can I get WMP 11 to show the visualizations again?
I did something that it didn't like, and since then it has not shown any visualizations when music is playing, and I select the "Now Playing" tab.
They are all still installed, and selecting any of them just results in the same black screen.
Last time it happened, I could not find any other way to get them back other than to re-install WMP 11.
I don't want to do this if there is an other way, 'cos it messes up my library, and it takes me two days to sort it out again!
There must be an easier way....surely??

Try to access your device manager and check if there are any problems like a yellow ex-exclamation mark.

Btw..what did you do that it didn't like?

    vsclassic,
    Checked device Mgr. all clean!

To be honest, I can't recall what I did this time!
It's usually trying to open files that it doesn't have the codecs for that upsets it, get the msg "WMP has encountered a prob..."
and when I re start, I'm notified that plugins have been disabled, (only got Nero) and after that I have usually lost the visualizations!
I can re-enable Nero no problem, but visualizations, though present, don't work!
This time I think I was trying to open a "Moviemaker" file that I didn't notice hadn't been converted to WMV, but it didn't crash the player, just lost the visualizations.

    Try this if Re-installation fails

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330332

    (a)Have you scan for virus?

    (b)Try to uninstall NERO.
    -Nero may be the problem.
-does your video files icon change into Nero player's icons?
(c)Did you select NO VISUALIZATIONin the options?

Your Music and video files in your folders.

Do they have a different icon?

    Oh, I see.
No, I'm running both WMP 11 and iTunes, and all libraries are un changed.
    MP3, WMA, Wav, and AAC.

Got an early start tomorrow so I'm off to bed now!

    Thanks for helping,
    Nite Nite....:)
