.wmv to .mpeg

    How can I convert a .wmv file into a .mpeg file. Any suggestions, I am new to this world, would be very thankful if somebody comes up with an answer. Thank you to everybody who would help me.

    I've done that simply by program named TMPGEnc. Just follow the wizard and read discussion and articles concerning using TMPGEnc.
    Second issue is, if it is wise because second or even third encoding decreases video quality a lot.

    Can you walk me through the process of converting .wmv to .mpeg using TMPGEnc, I am new to this and tried it, but in vain, would be thankful to you. Thanks.
