I noticed by running aspichk.exe from Adaptec that my windows XP computer does not possess an ASPI layer.

Is this something that would be beneficial for DVD burning or not?

If yes, which one would be more recommended? Adaptec's or Nero's NeroASPIen.exe?

In case it matters, my drive is a LG GSA-4120B

Having an aspi layer can be beneficial to programs. If you have Windows XP and are using DVD Decrypter to burn it will use XP's SPTI instead of aspi. Nero installs its own aspi but this will not work in conjunction with other programs only Nero, therefore, you would need an aspi layer. As to which aspi program to use I prefer Force Aspi, I found it easier to put in. Try this site for info

My main pc does not have the aspi, but well over 500 burns using both nero and dvd decrypter to burn, well over 150 on the fly.
