I recently downloaded the latest Nero software to fix a previous write error problem and it worked. After a few successful burns while using DVD Shrink with Nero (as I always have done) the DVD will burn 1/2 way to 3/4 and give me the error message below. Any advice? Here is the message:

There was this additional message in a different window:
    Burning did not complete successfully!

However all output files were successfully encoded, and thy are ready for burning with appropriate DVD burning software.

    and

    Neither of those are good!!

Put your writer in DMA mode heres a link that will show you how http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/DMA.html

CMC Mag is the worst possible media you could use to back up your DVD's try some better quality media.

    I see several things:

    1) Please edit out your nero serial # at the top of the report. Starts out as 1A20 xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx

    2)[bold]CdRomPeripheral : TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: Off[/bold]

This must be on,use bbmayo's guide to reset it.

    http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/DMA.html

    3)[bold]Last address to be written: 2286111 (508:01.36, 4465MB)
    [/bold]

Reduce your backup target in dvd shrink: Open up shrink/edit/preferences/click dvd-5/scroll till custom/enter 4300 mbs in box next to it/OK.

    4)[bold] Media type: DVD-R
    Disc Manufacturer: CMC MA - G. AF1
    [/bold/

Cmag's aren't exactly quality media.Get some better media like taiyo yuden, verbatim data-life plus, maxell,or fuji.Poor media has to be burned slower and at a reduced target. It can throw your drives from dma mode to pio mode with 5 or so burn errors in a few.
