I've been looking at the SATA to USB trick to dump keys and read the 0225/0401 drives using JF through VIA chipsets instead of paying for the X360USB pro, but does this trick also allow writing FW to the drive as well? I keep seeing read/dump keys everywhere, but I'm not finding anything on whether or not it works to flash the drive. Also, I gather that all this method is doing is tricking the drive at power-on to believe that it is connected to SATAII instead of the VIA SATAI ports, bypassing new firmware checks implemented in 0225/0401 (vs no checks for 9504/0227). If this is actually the case, wouldn't it be possible to just power on the drive while connected to a PC with SATAII then just swap it into the VIA SATAI PC? The X360USB pro seems like it would make things a lot easier (I still have to do the kamikaze "hack/unlock"), but I don't want to spend $60 if I don't need to.
