I'm getting the following error when trying to burn movies downloaded from the internet:

"Sorry, your compilation cannot be written on this kind of disc. Please insert a disc of the correct type
or modify the setting of your compilation to make them compatible with the current disc."

My DVD burner is a Pioneer which can write on DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+R DL, DVD+RW. The discs I'm using are Fujifilm DVD-R.

    PLEASE HELP

It sounds like it is not having a problem with the disc itself, just that what you are doing is not compatible with the disc you have inserted.

Are you doing a DVD compilation and not a CD or VCD?

Does the burn fit on the type of disc or do you need a Dual Layer one (DVD-9)?

Maybe some more details about exactly what you are doing would help.

Which program of Nero are you using, can you post a History log, located here

Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt

Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory

I think you're right. The file I was trying to burn was AVI and I don't think it was converting it to a DVD file. I actually download DIVxToDVD, DVD Shrink 3.2 and DVD Decrypter and it worked. I think I'll just use that instead of Nero.

    THANK YOU ALL FOR HELP.

AVI files can easily be burned using Nero Vision, NO conversion is required. Heres a basic guide on how I burn my AVI files, using Nero 7, works the same for Nero 6. There is a more comprehensive guide in my sig, made by alkohol
